In late 2000, one Afghan refugee came to us asking for our help. We helped his insurance problem by his car accident. After this case, many Afghan refugees started visiting us every week. Then, on September 11, 2001, the 9.11 terrorist attacks occurred in New York. The United States bombed Afghanistan, claiming that Osama Bin Laden was being harbored by the Taliban. At the same time in Japan, the media began to focus on Afghan refugees. We reported that Afghans who had been denied refugee status were about to be evicted by the Japanese government. Since then, we have been working on a number of refugee migrants\u2019 issues.
